Submission of articles and book reviews

[Version française]

     Authors are invited to send their proposals for articles or book reviews by e-mail only, to the e-mail address redaction.musiqueenacte@gmail.com, with the subject heading “Article proposal” or “Book review proposal”, whichever is applicable.

     Two files will be attached:

  • a first Word file (DOC or DOCX format), containing:
    • the article or review, written according to the journal's editorial guidelines and labelled "Article title" or "Review of book XXX". This document must be anonymous, meaning that the identity of the author must not appear in the document, nor must it be possible to deduce it from certain wording or bibliographical references in the article or review, so that the submitted texts can be reviewed anonymously. Illustrations (tables, captions, music examples, figures, etc.) if any, should be inserted in the appropriate places to aid the reading of the texts during the review process;
    • for articles only, an abstract of no more than 1,500 characters in length including spaces, in French and English, and a list of 5 key words, in French and English;
  • a second separate Word file (DOC or DOCX format) labelled “Author’s last name and first name” that includes the following:
    • title of the article or book review;
    • the author’s last name and first name;
    • the author’s institutional affiliation;
    • the author’s email address, telephone numbers and postal address;
    • an author’s short biographical profile of no more than 1,000 characters in length including spaces, written in French and English.

     Illustrations included in the submitted document will also be attached separately to this mailing. They will be sent in PNG or TIF format, with a minimum resolution of 600 dpi, and will be labelled with the same numbering as used in the text (Figure 1, Figure 2, Example 1, Example 2, etc.). The author will ensure the reproduction of any musical examples via the use of appropriate music notation software (Finale, Sibelius, etc.). Please note that scanned scores are not accepted, except in special cases to be discussed with the editorial team. Figures and musical examples must be ready to print. Please contact the editorial team if you have any doubts about these points.
