     Peter van Tour is post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Leuven, Belgium. As a scholar in musicology, Peter has specialized in Ear Training Pedagogy, Counterpoint Pedagogy, and Historic Improvisation. He studied Music Pedagogy at the Conservatory of Brabant in Tilburg, Musicology at the University of Utrecht, and Master in Music Theory (MA) at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. His PhD thesis “Counterpoint and Partimento: Methods of Teaching Composition in Late Eighteenth-Century Naples” highlights the practical teaching strategies at the Neapolitan conservatories during the late eighteenth century. He recently presented an edition of Nicola Sala’s (1713–1801) partimenti: “The 189 Partimenti of Nicola Sala: Complete Edition with Critical Commentary” in three volumes (Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis, Uppsala, 2017).
