Wayne C. Petty is Associate Professor of Music at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. His research centers on the history and practice of Schenkerian analysis, the analysis of early sonata forms and multimovement instrumental compositions, and musical modeling and influence. He is currently at work on several studies in these areas, addressing the music of the Bach family, Haydn, and Chopin, among others.
