Heewon Chung is a lecturer of Music Theory at Seoul National University in South Korea, where she completed her undergraduate studies and master’s degree. She received her Ph.D. in Music Theory at the University of Michigan with a dissertation exploring semitonal relationships in Chopin’s music in August 2015. She researches the areas of nineteenth-century chromatic tonality, performance and analysis, theory of form, and file music. She is an active pianist as well.
